Former Learning Connection, Inc and Modern Campus Executive Kathy Brady Joins Genius Learning
Key Hire Accelerates Genius Expansion into Continuing Education
Miramar, FL May 8, 2024 – Genius, the premier education management platform, today announced the hire of Kathy Brady as Continuing Education Subject Matter Expert. Brady brings over 35 years of community education experience to Genius, with leadership experience at Learning Connection, Inc and Modern Campus. This announcement comes on the heels of Genius’ acquisition of Literacy Pro Systems LACES and leads the company’s expansion into the Continuing Education (CE) space.
Kathy has been a community education leader since 1985, with a laser focus on software development that results in student-centric and operationally efficient platforms for administrators and business users. In her new role as Continuing Education Subject Matter Expert, she will lead outreach and sales efforts, ensuring colleges and universities have a specialized platform to serve students, businesses, and the community in Continuing Education/Workforce Development.
“With our recent expansion into the Continuing Education vertical, it became crucial that we bring on the best CE professionals to support our platform growth and development,” said Matthew Schnittman, CEO of Genius. “Kathy brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep understanding of the higher education landscape. We’re excited to welcome her to the team and look forward to seeing the growth of this sector at Genius.”
Before joining Genius, Kathy held executive roles at Learning Connection, Inc (Providence, RI), Boston Learning Society (Needham, MA), and served as Director of Education at Boston Center for Adult Education. In 1999, alongside Greg Marsello (Learning Resources Network) and Cem Erdem (Augusoft), she spearheaded the development of the pioneering Lumens SaaS online registration product, enabling community colleges and programs to offer self-service registration for Continuing Education (CE). Transitioning to full-time consultancy while overseeing New England programs, Kathy guided Lumens’ expansion in 2008, establishing it as the foremost registration platform for non-credit programs across the US and Canada. Her continued involvement in CE professional associations facilitated the integration of industry trends into Lumens’ features, with a focus on student-centricity and operational efficiency for administrators and business users, without reliance on college and university IT resources.
“As the Continuing Education market evolves rapidly, institutions are struggling to find the right solutions for their needs,” said Brady. “The Genius CE Saas platform solves these complex challenges and efficiently delivers crucial functionality, including e-commerce, online registration and reporting, that CE providers require to drive successful programs. I’m thrilled to be a part of this talented team driving innovation and transformation in the education management space.”
